Aspergillosis is a sporadic fungal infection caused by several environmentally ubiquitous species of Aspergillus. Among domestic animals, Aspergillus fumigatus is the most common culprit. Hsp90 is a molecular chaperone that promotes the maturation, structural maintenance and proper regulation of specific target proteins involved for instance in cell cycle control and signal transduction.
