Target Information
Bovine T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain (CD8A) is a crucial cell-surface glycoprotein on the majority of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes in cattle, functioning as a co-receptor that assists in the recognition of antigens presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules. It plays a vital role in T-cell activation, cytokine production, and the subsequent immune response against intracellular pathogens and in the surveillance of tumor cells. CD8A, as part of the CD8α chain, forms a heterodimer with CD8β or a homodimer with another CD8α chain, and is essential for the immune system's ability to identify and eliminate abnormal cells.
