5'-Nucleotidase ecto is encoded by the NT5E gene in dogs. It serves as one of the cell surface markers and contains binding sites for transcription factors such as AP-2, SMAD proteins, SP-1, as well as elements responsive to cAMP, which are present in cAMP promoter regions.
