Target Information

Chlamydia pneumoniae probable outer membrane protein pmp10 is a member of the polymorphic membrane protein (Pmp) family. Pmp10 is expressed during the infection cycle and is involved in the pathogenesis of C. pneumoniae. It is found in elementary bodies (EBs) and is up-regulated between 36 and 48 hours post-infection. Pmp10 is surface-exposed and can be detected with antibodies in formalin-fixed infected cells. In veterinary medicine, Pmp10 is a potential target for vaccine development and diagnostic tools due to its role in host-pathogen interactions.
