Target Information
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED) is an acute, highly contagious enteric disease caused by the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV). The disease is marked by vomiting, watery diarrhea, and severe dehydration, leading to high mortality rates in piglets that are one week old. The S1 protein of the PED virus plays a crucial role in inducing apoptosis.
