Target Information
Stromal cell derived factor-1 (SDF-1) is a vital chemokine involved in the migration of stem and progenitor cells. A previous study using zebrafish has led researchers to propose a mechanism in which sdf1-expressing mesodermal cells, located above the endodermal layer, direct the movement of cxcr4a-expressing endodermal cells towards the dorsal side of the developing embryo during gastrulation.
