Target Information

Stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) was first isolated from cultured bone marrow stromal cells that matched the characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). SDF-1 induces chemotaxis in bone marrow-derived cells expressing the CXCR4 receptor and plays a role in the development of various vascular diseases, including those affecting the eye.
