Target Information

Heparin, also known as unfractionated heparin (UFH), is an anticoagulant used to prevent the formation of blood clots during and after surgery and to treat various heart, lung, and circulatory disorders in which there is an increased risk of blood clot formation. It is generally extracted from the bovine heart or the small intestinal mucosa of swine. It is an essential medication for preventing and treating blood clots, but it requires careful monitoring.
