11-Deoxycorticosterone (DOC), also referred to as deoxycorticosterone, 21-hydroxyprogesterone, desoxycortone (INN), deoxycortone, and cortexone, is a steroid hormone synthesized by the adrenal gland. It exhibits mineralocorticoid activity and serves as a precursor to aldosterone. While DOC is a strong mineralocorticoid, it lacks significant glucocorticoid activity.
