Target Information

Cathepsin V, also known as Cathepsin L2 or Cathepsin U, is a protein encoded by the CTSV gene in cattle. Cathepsin V belongs to the papain-like protease family (MEROPS family C1). It is a lysosomal cysteine protease with endopeptidase activity. Cathepsin V shares 80% protein sequence identity with cathepsin L, and its expression is mostly confined to the thymus and testis.
