Target Information
Heparanase, also known as HPSE, is an enzyme that plays a critical role both at the cell surface and within the extracellular matrix. It can degrade polymeric heparan sulfate molecules into shorter chain length oligosaccharides. Bovine Heparanase is encoded by the HPSE gene in cattle. It may play a role in ovulation but much less so during corpus luteum development.
