Target Information
Bovine microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 is encoded by the MAPRE1 gene in cattle. The protein encoded by this gene was first identified by its binding to the APC protein, which is frequently mutated in familial and sporadic forms of colorectal cancer. This protein localises to microtubules, particularly the growing ends, in interphase cells. During mitosis, the protein is associated with centrosomes and spindle microtubules. It may be involved in muscle formation and growth.
