Target Information
Methionine-Enkephalin (Met-enkephalin), also known as metenkefalin, is a naturally occurring, endogenous opioid peptide with opioid effects of a relatively short duration. It is a pentapeptide with the amino acid sequence: tyr-gly-gly-phe-met. It is one of the two forms of enkephalin, the other being leu-enkephalin. It has opioid effects of a relatively short duration and is associated with pain relief. Bovine cornea contains methionine enkephalin.
