Target Information
Bovine Inhibin Beta B Chain is encoded by the INHBB gene in cattle. It is a subunit of inhibin which is a potent inhibitor of the basal release of follicle stimulating hormone from the anterior pituitary. Inhibin B is a glycoprotein hormone produced by reproductive cells. It serves different functions in males and females. In females, inhibin B is mainly produced by granulosa cells in ovarian follicles. In males, inhibin B is primarily produced by Sertoli cells within the testes.
