Target Information

Interleukin-16 (IL-16) is a cytokine that is secreted by various cell types, including lymphocytes and certain epithelial cells. It exhibits a chemotactic effect on specific immune cells that express the cell-surface molecule CD4. In chickens fed with a diet containing non-starch polysaccharides, there was an increase in IL-16 concentration in the jejunum, which may be attributed to mononuclear cell infiltration and activation of T-cells.
