Target Information

Bovine Type II Iodothyronine Deiodinase is encoded by the DIO2 gene in cattle. It belongs to the deiodinase family and plays a crucial role in the activation and inactivation of thyroid hormones. DIO2 is the primary enzyme responsible for regulating thyroid hormones. It catalyzes the conversion of thyroxine to triiodothyronine. A previous study found a negative correlation between the expression level of DIO2 and fatty acid synthesis, oxidation, and mitochondrial function.
