Target Information

Uveal Autoantigen With Coiled-Coil Domains And Ankyrin Repeats (UACA), also known as NUCLING, is a protein encoded by the UACA gene in cattle. It contains six ankyrin repeats, coiled-coil domains and a leucine zipper motif. UACA is expressed in various tissues, with the highest levels observed in skeletal muscle. It has been reported that UACA is an autoantigen in patients with Panuveitis. It may also be associated with apoptosis.
