Target Information

Motilin plays a crucial role in controlling gastrointestinal motility. During the inter-digestive state, motilin is released into the general circulation approximately every 100 minutes. It is the most important factor in controlling inter-digestive migrating contractions. Bovine Promotilin is encoded by the MLN gene in cattle. Its SNP appears useful to reduce the incidence of left-sided displacement of the abomasum in German Holstein cattle.
