Target Information

Bovine Macrophage Scavenger Receptor Types I and II is encoded by the MSR1 gene in cattle. It is also known as CD204, and is a protein expressed primarily on the surface of various types of macrophages. It plays key roles in multiple pathophysiologic processes. The role of MSR1 can be dichotomous, being either host protective or detrimental to disease pathogenesis. Researchers are exploring its molecular mechanisms, signaling pathways, and therapeutic potential.
