Target Information
GRIA1 (also known as GluR1/AMPA-selective glutamate receptor 1) is an ionotropic glutamate receptor subunit that belongs to the AMPA receptor family. In the mammalian brain, glutamate receptors are the primary excitatory neurotransmitter receptors, playing a crucial role in various normal neurophysiological processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes composed of multiple subunits, each with transmembrane regions, organized to form a ligand-gated ion channel. Glutamate receptor 1 is critical to synaptic plasticity. In rabbits, it is encoded by the GRIA1 gene.
