Target Information

Tri-iodothyronine (T3) is a thyroid hormone that affects many physiological process in the body. T3 affects nearly every aspect of the health, including metabolism, growth and development, heart rate, body temperature, and brain function. The thyroid gland produces both T3 and its precursor, thyroxine (T4). Consumption of low protein (10%) diets is known to produce elevations in plasma triiodothyronine (T3) in growing chickens.
