Target Information

Myosin II minifilaments bind to F-actin via motor head domains, forming contractile structures important for cell shape change and motility of muscle and non-muscle cells. Bovine Myosin-2 is encoded by the MYH2 gene in cattle. It is expressed in the fast twitch type 2A fibers. Autosomal dominant or recessive pathogenic variants in MYH2 lead to congenital myopathy, which is clinically characterized by ophthalmoparesis and predominantly proximal weakness.
