Target Information

PTGDS is a glutathione-independent prostaglandin D synthase. It catalyzes the conversion of prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) to prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). It serves as both a neuromodulator and a trophic factor in the central nervous system. Bovine Prostaglandin-H2 D-Isomerase is encoded by the PTGDS gene in cattle. It is a member of the lipocalin superfamily and plays dual roles in prostaglandins metabolism and lipid transport.
