Target Information
Phosphoglucomutase-1 (PGM1) is an enzyme encoded by the PGM1 gene in cattle. It belongs to the phosphohexose mutase family and plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism. PGM1 catalyzes the bi-directional interconversion between α-D-glucose 1-phosphate and D-glucose 6-phosphate. In most cell types, this PGM isozyme is predominant, representing about 90% of total PGM activity. It is known for its involvement in cancer pathogenesis. It has been verified that PGM1 suppresses colorectal cancer progression via the PI3K/AKT pathway.
