Target Information

CD80 is encoded by the CD80 gene in dogs. It is believed that two signals are necessary for the initiation of T-cell activation and subsequent effector functions. The second signal is delivered through engagement of costimulatory molecules, notably CD28/CD152 (CTLA4) on T cells, and B7 (CD80 or B7-1 and CD86 or B7-2) on antigen presenting cells.
