Target Information
Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a reactive molecule formed during oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in the body. It serves as a biomarker to evaluate oxidative damage and is associated with various diseases. Malondialdehyde mainly exists as its enol form, hydroxyacrolein. In organic solvents, the cis-isomer is favored, while in water, the trans-isomer predominates. Serum MDA levels are significantly higher in cancer-bearing dogs compared to clinically normal dogs.
