Target Information

Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is widely distributed in animal tissues. Taurine doesn't actually contribute to protein synthesis in the body. Taurine is found in certain foods, particularly animal proteins like meat, fish, and dairy products. It has functions in immune health, nervous system, hydration, heart healh, eye health, and antioxidant properties. It was first isolated from the bile of an ox (Bos taurus), which is where its name originated. Goat raw milk is a source of taurine (14.92 mg per 100 g).
