Target Information

High mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) is a versatile protein sensitive to redox changes, playing diverse roles across different cellular compartments. In the nucleus, fully reduced HMGB1 primarily functions by associating with chromatin and binding to DNA. It shows a preference for non-canonical DNA structures, including single-stranded DNA, DNA with cruciform or bent configurations, supercoiled DNA, and Z-DNA.
