Target Information

The bone formation marker procollagen type I N-propeptide (PINP) is a trimeric peptide composed of two type I procollagen-α1 chains and one procollagen-α2 chain, all bonded non-covalently. Procollagen I N-terminal Propeptide is a biomarker associated with type I collagen synthesis and is commonly used to assess bone formation activity. In humans and other mammals, the concentration of Procollagen I N-terminal Propeptide is closely related to bone formation, especially in diseases such as osteoporosis and renal insufficiency, where PINP levels change significantly.
