Target Information

Positive acute phase proteins, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), increase in response to challenges. It is a protein produced by the liver. When there's inflammation in the body, the level of CRP increases. CRP is a sensitive and valuable indicator of inflammation, infection, neoplasia, stress, and trauma. It is widely used in veterinary medicine to confirm the presence of underlying inflammation and as an indicator of acute phase response in cats.
