Target Information
The angiotensin II receptors, ATR1 and ATR2, are a type of G protein-coupled receptors that have angiotensin II as their ligand. Activation of AGTR1 leads to vasoconstriction, aldosterone release, and other Ang II-mediated actions. AGTR1 plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure through its effects on vascular smooth muscle and fluid balance. Research has demonstrated that AT1 receptors are predominantly expressed in the atria of guinea pigs, and these receptors are responsible for the positive inotropic effect of angiotensin II.
