Target Information

FOXP3 (forkhead box P3), also known as scurfin, is a protein that plays a crucial role in immune system responses. As a member of the FOX protein family, FOXP3 functions as a master regulator in the development and operation of regulatory T cells. FOXP3 is essential for preventing autoimmune diseases by suppressing self-reactive T cells. FOXP3+ Tregs play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining immune tolerance, preventing the immune system from attacking self-tissues. Previous research demonstrated an increased expression of Foxp3 in guinea pigs infected with W-Beijing strains of M. tuberculosis.
