Target Information

Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), also known as goat plague, is a highly contagious viral disease that affects small ruminants such as goats and sheep. The PPR virus possesses a number of proteins that are crucial for its pathogenesis and immune evasion. One of these proteins is the PPR Protein N, which is a nucleoprotein essential for the viral replication process. The N protein of PPR virus is a highly conserved phosphoprotein that binds to the viral RNA genome, playing a pivotal role in the formation of the ribonucleoprotein complex. It is involved in various aspects of the virus life cycle, including viral transcription and replication. The N protein is also considered an important antigen that can elicit an immune response in infected hosts, making it a potential target for diagnostic and vaccine development.
