Target Information
Porcine nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group H member 2 (NR1H2), also known as the liver X receptor beta (LXRβ), is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily and plays a critical role in the regulation of lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cellular homeostasis in pigs. NR1H2 functions as a ligand-activated transcription factor, modulating the expression of target genes involved in cholesterol and lipid homeostasis. This receptor is highly expressed in liver and steroidogenic tissues, where it contributes to the maintenance of whole-body lipid balance. NR1H2 is activated by oxysterols and certain lipids, leading to the regulation of genes that control cholesterol efflux, fatty acid synthesis, and lipid transport.
