Porcine Ras-related protein Rab-14 is a member of the Rab GTPase family, which are known to regulate vesicle trafficking in eukaryotic cells. Rab GTPases are critical for the transport of vesicles from one cellular compartment to another, ensuring the proper localization of proteins and lipids within the cell. In pigs, Rab-14 may play a role in cellular processes such as endocytosis, exocytosis, and the maintenance of the cell wall, which are essential for growth, development, and response to environmental stimuli. Rab-14, like other Rab proteins, cycles between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state.
