Target Information

Bovine IgM is a critical immunoglobulin that plays a significant role in the early immune response of cattle. It is primarily produced by B cells and is the first antibody to appear in response to most antigens. Bovine IgM is highly efficient in activating the complement system, which aids in the destruction of pathogens. Additionally, it is involved in agglutination and neutralization of viruses and bacteria, making it an important factor in the defense against infections. In bovine neutrophils, IgM can facilitate phagocytosis through its interaction with the FcμR receptor, enhancing the clearance of bacteria at inflammatory sites.
