Target Information
Porcine secreted frizzled-Related Protein 2 (pSFRP2) is a secreted protein that belongs to the family of Frizzled-related proteins, which are known to play roles in the modulation of Wnt signaling pathways. These pathways are integral to various developmental processes, cellular differentiation, and tissue homeostasis in pigs. pSFRP2, in particular, acts as a regulator of Wnt signaling by competing with Wnt ligands for binding to Frizzled receptors and LRP (Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein) co-receptors. This interaction inhibits the activation of the Wnt pathway, which is crucial for controlling cell proliferation, migration, and the self-renewal of stem cells.
