Target Information
D-Amino-Acid Oxidase is encoded by the DAO gene in pigs. Porcine kidney D-amino acid oxidase was identified as the first mammalian flavoprotein that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of D-α-amino acids with strict R-stereoselectivity to the corresponding α-keto acids, ammonia, and hydrogen peroxide, although it does not act on simple amines. It has been widely used as a general reagent in research and for the microdetermination of D-amino acids.
