Target Information
Eosinophil chemotactic factors (ECFs) are a group of chemoattractant molecules that specifically attract eosinophils to sites of inflammation. ECFs are crucial for recruiting eosinophils from the bloodstream to tissues, particularly in allergic and parasitic conditions. Injecting ECF into guinea pig ears leads to a specific attraction of eosinophils over time, a response that is more pronounced in animals with existing eosinophilia. Eosinophil chemotactic factors (ECFs) are believed to be crucial in recruiting eosinophils to areas of parasitic inflammation. Host-derived ECFs include ECF-A from mast cells, lymphokines from lymphocytes, and ECFs from complements.
