Target Information
Erythropoietin Receptor is encoded by the EPOR gene in pigs. EpoR is a member of the cytokine receptor family. It pre-exists as dimers on the surface of cells. It plays a crucial role in the regulation of red blood cell production. Erythropoietin stimulates erythropoiesis by promoting the development of committed erythroid cells through its receptor EPOR. This is achieved by either inhibiting apoptosis or increasing cell division.
