Target Information

Gastrotropin, also known as Fatty Acid-Binding Protein 6 (FABP6), is a protein encoded by the FABP6 gene in pigs. Gastrotropin stimulates gastric acid and pepsinogen secretion. Isoform 2 of gastrotropin is essential for the survival of colon cancer cells during bile acid-induced apoptosis. Research has shown that FABP6 could bind bile acids, the metabolites of cholesterol, and are crucial for the absorption and transport of lipids and vitamins.

Target/Biomarker Porcine FABP6
