Target Information

Flotillin-1 is encoded by the FLOT1 gene in pigs. The FLOT/reggie protein family is an integral membrane element that consists of two isoforms: flotillin-1 and flotillin-2. Flotillin-1 is predominantly expressed in the nervous system and has been identified as an evolutionarily conserved protein that plays a role in learning and memory. Flotillin-1 is involved in several cellular functions, including cell adhesion, actin cytoskeleton reorganization, endocytosis, phagocytosis, and the transduction of cellular signals.
