Target Information

Thromboxane B2 (TXB2) is an inactive metabolite/product of thromboxane A2. While TXB2 itself does not play a direct role in platelet activation and aggregation during wound healing, its precursor, thromboxane A2, is crucial in these processes. Thromboxane A2 synthesis is targeted by the drug aspirin, which is known to inhibit the COX-1 enzyme responsible for producing thromboxane A2 in platelets.
