Target Information
Heat-stable Enterotoxin Receptor, also known as guanylyl cyclase C (GC-C), is encoded by the GUCY2C gene in pigs. It functions as the principal receptor for heat-stable enterotoxins (STa). It is is enriched in intestinal epithelium but is also detected in other epithelial tissues. It is a target that has been investigated for the treatment of colorectal cancer and numerous animal, and clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy and safety.
