Target Information

Hepcidin antimicrobial peptide is encoded by the HAMP gene in pigs. It is a peptide hormone secreted primarily by hepatocytes. As a master regulator of iron homeostasis, it regulates iron availability including its recycling by macrophages, and releasing from hepatic stores.
