Target Information

Lactase is encoded by the LCT gene in pigs.Lactose is vital for enhancing the growth performance of weaning pigs as it serves as a palatable and easily digestible energy source that facilitates the transition from milk to solid feed. However, post-weaning, the digestibility of lactose diminishes due to the decreased activity of endogenous lactase in piglets.
