Target Information

Lipocalin-1 is a small transport protein that binds various small hydrophobic molecules, including fatty acids, retinoids (vitamin A derivatives), and signaling molecules. It is encoded by the OBP2B gene in pigs. It is widely expressed in various tissues, including the liver, kidneys, and lungs. It belongs to the lipocalin family that is secreted by mandibular and submandibular glands in pigs.
