Target Information

D-3-Phosphoglycerate Dehydrogenase is encoded by the PHGDH gene in pigs. PHGDH is an initial enzyme in the serine/one-carbon/glycine (SOG) biosynthetic pathway. It catalyzes the transition of 3-phospho-D-glycerate into 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate. This step is the committed step in the phosphorylated pathway of L-serine biosynthesis. It has been reported that ractopamine-treated pigs have increased protein expression of the PHGDH and PEPCK-M enzymes in skeletal muscle.

Target/Biomarker Porcine PHGDH
Target Synonym D-3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase; 3-PGDH; PHGDH; 1.1.1.95
