Target Information

Placenta Growth Factor is encoded by the PIGF gene in pigs. It belongs to the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) sub-family, which plays a crucial role in angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and vasculogenesis during embryonic development. It is a dimeric glycoprotein that shares significant homology with VEGF. It participates in the formation of the fetal-maternal vasculature of several mammalian species.
