POU Domain, Class 3, Transcription Factor 3 is encoded by the POU3F3 gene in pigs. It enables HMG box domain binding activity and sequence-specific DNA binding activity. It is also involved in several processes, including metanephric nephron epithelium development; negative regulation of apoptotic process; and regulation of transcription, DNA-templated. It is critically involved in the development of distinct nephron segments during nephrogenesis.
